M25

Does fear pith our volition when
It feels like guesswork to begin
The land ahead was never mapped
The signal’s dead, and knowledge sapped
And you must forward, forward go
Build on fragments of the known
Does it feel unfair, and make you squirm
To be tested in what you’d never learned?
Our days are not a paper test
To judge our gleanings from a text
The eyes that see, the fire tries
The central stuff with this assize
Know: steadfast love is what’s desired
Producing poor from wealthy liars
Sheep and goats will both say “when”
As test results are coming in
On the rock, or on the sand?

The Storm assays the sons of man
